After intensely gaming on my Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC for a year, I decided to repaste it with ARCTIC MX-4 paste.

However, my first repaste was much worse than the original temps, reaching 105 degrees on the hotspot almost instantly.
Then I redid it carefully, by first covering every part of the die with a thin layer of paste and then adding a small pea of paste in the middle, finally mounting the cooler on again. I did it this way because I had big worries of not covering every part of the die with the regular method and thus killing the GPU.

Old temps using Furmark at 2700rpm:
~24 Room temp
70C average
85C Hotspot

New temps using Furmark at 2700rpm:
~24C Room Temp
81C average
97C Hotspot

My previus Temps however were much better and im pretty sure that I already made a good thermal paste application.
I am still using the original thermal pads and I changed nothing else regarding the graphics card or the system.
Are my new Temps still fine or should I repaste the card using another method or paste?

My full System specs are:
Ryzen 5 5600x Stock
Wraith Prism Cooler
MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
32GB 3600MHZ
Open Air Case
Corsair VS650 PSU

Ok, I didn't know that. I already played with the thougth of raplacing my thermal pads put I heard the GDDR6 Memory does not get that hot. I will buy some fitting new pads and try that.
