Question RTX 3080 Low fps

I ran a benchmark on Shadow Of The Tomb Raider and the average fps was 111 with a Ryzen 3600 and 32gb ram with 3200 mhz , some parts of the benchmark the GPU usage was dipping towards 60-70%. The video below says that I should be getting around 150 frames with a 3600.

Games like RDR2 , Control and Witcher 3 are working fine, but I also get low GPU usage with GTA 5.

- drivers are up to date.

after doing some more benchmarks I'm assuming it's because of my cpu? I did a slight OC on my cpu. Notice how it says the average fps is 154 vs the CPU average showing 114 would that suggest a bottleneck?

Wow, I have this exact same issue and this exact benchmark is what is concerning me. As you, I saw that the 3600 with 3080 should reach ~150 fps in this benchmark, yet my 3600X + brand new 3080 is getting ~111. Something is not right. I'm starting to think my 12 year old PSU, even though it's 775w, is actually not outputting quite enough for the 3080 to be fully utilized. My CPU fps numbers are similar to yours also.

I ordered a new PSU to arrive in 2 days, in which case I will update after installing. Did you find a solution to your lower fps?

I reinstalled Win10 and that did nothing. But I did start doing more research and found that the GPU power draw actually DROPS during the SOTTR benchmark. It sits at around 300w in the menus and then when you run the benchmark it goes down and stays around 200-275w. This is also tied to GPU usage which stays 50-75% during the benchmark. Wondering if it's a driver related issue or compatibility with my mainboard? I have an MSI B450 and the bios and drivers are up to date. I've tried a few different geforce drivers and none of them make a difference. This is mind boggling. I guess it could still be a PSU issue and it's dropping under load. I'll see tomorrow when the new PSU arrives. I hope that's it because otherwise I will probably have to buy a different mainboard.

I think there's an issue running the Demo version of the SOTTR benchmark with the default settings. When I run with other settings and compare against review benchmarks, they line up. Specifically, Highest w/ RT Ultra @ 1440p I'm getting 81fps, which is actually a few above the review score. I then tested a few other games, including the FF14 Shadowbringers benchmark, and my score (17,507) lines up exactly with other 3080 setups. I'm leaving this info in case others stumble upon this thread and are concerned with their low SOTTR benchmark when using the demo version. I think it's an anomaly and I would suggest to others to also test other games.
