[SOLVED] RTX 3080 Ti bad performance?

Hello,
I recently bought the RTX 3080 Ti FE. I did some testing and my results seems a bit underwhelming.
First: My previous card was a 2080 ti and was idling at 32°C. I swapped it for the 3080 Ti and it's now idling at 50°C with the fans at 47%. It seems hot and it is very noisy.
Second: I launched a Time Spy extreme benchmark and I got a Graphics score of 9320 and it seems low. Temps were around 80°C.
Do you have similar performance? Do you think of something I might have done wrong? I can provide more data if needed.
Thx a lot for your help !

Seems pretty normal then.

3080Ti FE is basically a 3090 with the 3080 cooler. Not ideal and there is certainly more performance on the table with a CPU upgrade and water cooling the GPU if you wanted to go down that route.

JayzTwoCents and Gamers Nexus both thought the founders edition 3080ti was underwhelming compared to the vanilla 3080. Jay did review both a founders and an EVGA FTW3 card, though, and said that the EVGA card performed like a 3090 for less money, so it was a better value overall then the founders 3080ti. I think a lot of people are going to be buying these with unrealistic expectations of a massive performance uplift over the vanilla cards, when the real gain will probably be closer to 3-4%, which isn't justified for nearly double the MSRP.

The FE reviews I read did speculate about cooling with power of 350 watts (same as 3090) using the same cooling as 320 watt 3080.

I have a Gigabyte 3080TI Gaming and it runs around 35C at idle. It will hit 60C when drawing 350 watts. My case is set up for very good airflow.

I bought the 3080 ti at MSRP so no regret at all regarding the cost of this card. I cannot find any 3080 at this cost anyway ! YouTubers saying that it’s not worth it are irrelevant in my case because you cannot buy a 3080 for the MSRP of a 3080 ti at the moment. Why would I spend more than 1200$ for a 3080 when I was able to buy the 3080 ti at this price?

Plus I don’t even talk about the value regarding other card, I only compare it to others 3080 ti data, even to 3080 ti FE data.

Anyway, thx to those who helped with the DDU tips ;)

There are aftermarket air coolers which can help you if you wish to squeeze a bit more out of it.

Oh I'd be interested in that actually ! Would you mind giving me an example plz? I used the Arctic accelero Xtrem IV on my previous card and it did great. I wasn't able to find one for the 3080 ti fe though.
