Basically three proposed, rumored, configurations.

An RTX3080 with 20GB of VRAM (Not likely, would really eat into RTX3090 sales)
An inbetween 10240 core GA102 with 12GB of VRAM
An RTX3090 full core count (10496) with only 12GB of VRAM.

And there could be many sub configurations like less cache, less TMUs, less ROPs, or a change in RT or Tensor core count.

Apart from VRAM if you actually need it the gap between the 3080 and 3090 is actually quite small already. As a gamer with a 3080 I don’t need the extra VRAM and don’t feel like I am missing any meaningful performance. The 3080Ti confuses me as how it will squeeze into such a small gap in the line up.

There isn’t a massive gap between the 3080 and 3090 as is is there? Could just be a 3090 with less VRAM. The only people who need all that VRAM are professionals so the Ti wouldn’t eat into those sales

Smaller memory bus is the RTX 3080... 320bit instead of the 384bit. Lopped off a sixth of everything essentially.

They could do just the memory bus and leave the rest equivalent to a 3090 I suppose.

People who bought the titan only to have the 780ti come out 3 months later were pissed!
