Hello,
I play warzone alot and had a rx5700xt and now rtx 3080. Both of them are never at 99% utilization and this is causing them to have lower fps(rtx3080 was 120-140 at 1080p) as they are only ever sitting around 50-60%.
I used MSI afterburner to see the utilization and fps
I have tried several things....
-Uninstalled previous drivers using DDU
  • Installed the latest driver
  • Installed 2nd latest driver
  • Enabled PBO and CPB
  • AMD high performance plan
  • Made sure 8pin are connected properly
  • Chipset is updated
  • Turned Vsync off
Any ideas anybody??????

SPECS
Ryzen 7 3700x (stock cooler)
MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 3080
AORUS B550 Pro
Corsair 3000MHz CL15 2x8gb
Corsair RM850x

Solution
Yeah possibly, Ive seen people get over 200fps consistenly with a 3080 at 1080p and im not even getting close
At low resolution and high fps situations the cpu and RAM speed becomes more important. If comparing to say a modern i7/i9 or Ryzen 5000 series and if they also use higher speed RAM/lower latency that could explain a reasonable % difference in FPS.
Is your RAM in the correct motherboard slots for dual channel? Although running at the correct speed it looks to be under performing so I wonder if it’s running in single channel and not dual.

Also what is the cpu temperature while gaming?
On cpu-z it says its in single, but i have placed the ram in B1 and B2 on my motherboard which is what the manual says is dual channel.
cpu temp while gaming 65-70 celcius

I made a mistake...they are now on dual channel but still no difference

would that explain for the gpu not being utilized fully though?

Not enough to warrant the cost. There are lots of comparisons based on RAM speed if you search. While there is a difference it may only be a smaller part compared to differences from different CPU’s.
Should I upgrade cpu to a i7 10700k? As benchmarks show they perform better on warzone at 1080p
