Question RTX 3080 with Ryzen 5 3600 poor performance

Hi all,

I've just built a new PC with the following spec:

ASUS ROG Strix B550 Gaming
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
NVIDIA RTX 3080 FE
16GB DDR4 RAM
1tb nvme m2 ssd
Cooler Master 750w PSU

I've benchmarked a few games and I'm not getting the performance I was expecting.

On the Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark I'm averaging 111 fps at 1080p.

On FFXV I'm ranging between 70 and 100 fps.

Temperatures are good, I'm getting the scores I expect on Time Spy but something isn't right.

The same CPU with a 2080 gets much better results.

Any luck on this issue? I have the exact same problem here with a 3600x and getting really frustrated.

Are you daisy chaining the 8-pin connectors on the GPU with 1 cable?

At first I used a single line with 2 8-pin connectors, but now I have 2 separate 8-pin lines from the PSU going to the 3080. Unfortunately, it didn't make a difference.

Noticed also that my GPU utilization never goes above 75% when running the benchmark. Seems to be a pretty common issue. I may try a fresh Windows install before I get the new PSU.
