[SOLVED] RTX 3080

Hi,

Planning to build a new PC using the RTX 3080. Due to the stock shortage, not too sure if I should wait around or buy another GPU.

Do you think there's a decent chance I could snag one up if I'm casually checking daily? Not sure what the best way to get one is, or if people are pre-ordering them and just waiting for them to restock.

All gpus are super inflated right now, I would just try and get a gpu for near msrp or use a cheap (like gt 1030) gpu as a placeholder

At the moment the only sure way to find a 3080 at a reasonable price seems to be buying a whole pre built system.

Yeah I saw that. Considered doing it too. I may just wait for a pre-order slot to open up and then buy that sweet 3080. My current rig is doing fine so I guess waiting isn't the worst. Hopefully by the summer things will be better.

That's a good idea too. I am going to buy the i9-10900k as my processor. I could even use my current GPU (GTX 980Ti) as a placeholder instead of buying a new one in the meantime.
