Hi

I got a quite interesting question

I have 2 RTX 3090 use for mining, same model, Alienware R11, R12

They are both in the same room

Same thermal pad upgrade to cool down memory, same thermal paste upgrade as well to help cool down

Same thermal pad on the back plate

Same 3 80 mm fan to cool to back place

Both have lots of air around them, outside the computer casing

I try to have a near similar set up (apple with apple)

I have a 6-8C delta at the memory junction (80 vs 88), when running

80% power, 75% fan, -200 core clock, +550 memory clock

Both have a hash rate of 110-113

What could explain that gap?

Silicon lottery? Bios version? (both are using Dell original in the box bios)

Warmer card bios: 94.02.42.40.3C
Colder card bios: 94.02.26.80.80

Driver up to date

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Silicon lottery?
Most likely that, if every other factor is a constant, even down to the thermal pads and thermal paste being the same manufacturer, same amount applied and the same mounting(without any weak mounting spots.

Bios version?
That can also be another factor.
