Is it worth spending extra money to get RTX 4070 (8GB) variant over RTX 4060 (8GB) ASUS ROG STRIX G16. Both GPUs have 115W TDP with 25W boost.

To be future proof for few years, is 32GB RAM (DDR5 4800MHz) necessary for gaming in the above mentioned laptop? How long can I expect 16GB RAM to be sufficient for High preset 1080p/1440p gaming.

Thanks!!

It depends on the extra cost. 8 gb of vram is on its way out so I wouldnt buy any new gpu with anything less than 10 gb. The memory shouldn't a issue. Without being said, hogwarts legacy pulls 20 gb of ram on my pc today which is kind of alarming...

Around $300 difference between RTX4060 & RTX4070 laptop versions.

There are not much laptop GPUs out there having more than 10GB VRAM. RTX 3080,3080Ti,3090,4080,4090 are the only options and laptops having them costs an arm and a leg.

If I get decent gaming performance (say 40FPS+) at High settings 1080p/1440p in couple of years time, then I am happy. Can RTX 4060/4070 8GB laptop hold up to that expectation?

I cannot go for a desktop setup as I need to travel a lot and need mobility.

So should I go for RTX 4060 8GB or spend $300 more & get the RTX 4070 8GB laptop? Which will be more value for money? Please suggest.

Thanks!!
