For a product designed to be sold in China this is less of an issue. Every user will by definition have a "Chinese marketplace" down the street. And I bet most of those have actual tech repair shops of a type rare in the US.

With higher tiers of products restricted it makes sense that in China the best they can get will be pushed to it's limit in performance and profitability. Not at all unusual for a manufacturer to add a few "extra" features to justify on paper a large increase in price mostly caused by small supply.

The extra added fans offer nothing. Same low value as the Mega Gamer 4080 card Gamers Nexus reviewed. Pay more for nothing. The normal nowadays.

Funny. Five fans to cool that monster? Soon GPU will occupy 3 and 4 slots. So ridiculous I can't stop laughing. coming up you will need a external case to supply proper zots and cooling.

We are already there. My 4090 HOF already eat up 3.8-slots .

External GPU exist now. Mostly used on laptops but if the power requirements keep going up, there could be a use for them on Desktops as well.

Fully Component PC system ... like old Hi FI systems where you just buy a new box to attach to system when you want an upgrade. Buy a new 5090 and it comes it is own case with its own PSU (I have always sort of wished they would if only to stop people putting low quality PSU with high end GPU)

My 7900xt meant to be quad slot according to Techpowerup but I think its 3.5

the gpu will become the main cpu in the 5000 series, and the power needed to run them will exceed an old 3000 rig setup

thats absurd looking, power hungry ... 5 fans thats a lot of future problems waiting to happen

It's called competition. Neither Nvidia nor AMD knows what the competitor will come up with. They'll take out as much performance they think they'll need to beat their competitor. And dual slot air cooled card will struggle get rid of +450 up to 600W heat or that they simply will be too noisy. Hence we see tripple slot cards nowadays.

As long they continue coparate with the gamer developers and making games harder to run on current gen hw it will be so. Remember Nvidia said their 3080 was their go to 4K cards. And now 3 years later they are almost useless for the newer games. Greed have many ugly faces.
