Usage: PC VR Gaming 4K (Virtual Desktop, Steam Link, Praydog UEVR).

I'm looking to build a new RTX 4090 build that would last me the next 3-4 years for PC VR gaming.

Budget: 5K USD.

I always used Intel on my builds, but now I'm torn between some of the options shared here.

What I know I want for sure:

- RTX 4090
- DDR5 64GB RAM
- 4TB PCIe 5 NVMe SSD

I'm just not sure yet about the other main components. Ryzen 7 or i9? Would it even matter much?

If someone has experience with a solid PCVR build they feel comfortable using for PCVR (UEVR, VorpX, Luke Ross) with games like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, etc., your experience would be really helpful.

R7-7800X3D or i7-14700k are the general recommendations I make. I don't think you would be disappointed either way. Intel has better multithreaded performance, so non-gaming tasks should be better. Really need to look game for game at the benchmarks to see which would get you better performance in your favorite titles. Also look at the game engines and any upcoming games using those engines that you might be interested in.

Are you actually looking at pre-builts, or did you mean to place this under Systems?

Thanks for the information, that helps. No, not looking for pre-builts, just didn't look like GPU or other components was ok but totally overlooked Systems. Thank you!
