Question RTX 4090 recommended power

Gentlemen, I'm in need of your expertise.

I am building a PC with following specs:

ASUS Rog strix Z790-F
Intel core i9 13900k
RAM 32 GB
Power supply - Asus ROG Loki 850W


When it comes to graphics cards - I have bought Asus TUF gaming RTX 4070 TI OC edition, however, I was also able to get RTX 4090 for a relatively cheap price.

My question is - will 850W be enough to run the system properly if I install RTX 4090 or I should stick with RTX 4070 and sell 4090 ?

Is a bit low side, you are on teh borderline, 450W-500W the gpu and 300W CPU, depends on the number of ssds/hdds and evrything else

I'm thinking of 1 SSD 500 gb for C drive, and get either 1 TB SSD for D drive or HDD 2 TB , which one will consume less power?

Both and other SSDs use practically negligible power.

the 4090 os a 450W card when you game in 4k. with transient loads of 550W to 600W.

But if you play in 2k resolution, nvidia has done a good job of taming it to use less power.

If you play in 4k, i would suggest 1000W PSU. 2k res, you can get away with it.

and i would say, go for a single 2tb ssd. a good one like the WD850X is 100 USD for the 2tb model.
