So I have an RTX 4090 paired with an MSI Meg Ai1300P PSU and have been using it without any issues since March 2023 when i bought them.

But today when I was upscaling an image on Topaz Ai i got a green screen on the 2nd image upscale and then i had to restart. I tried again and got the same green screen again.

Then i ran ComfyUI and soon as the render started generating i got the green screen again. Again after the restart i ran GOW Ragnarok, as i am playing it these days, it started fine but as soon the the game loaded the save file i got the green screen again. So i immediately thought that it either a power issue or driver issue, also because i accidently turned off the power button yesterday when i shutdown my system and Windows was in the process of shutting it down . So first i updated the driver, i had the last update, but again i got the green screen.

SO this time i turned the power off and took off the 16-pin connector from the GPU and I saw that one of the pins was missing a cover. The pin is intact but i think the cover got broke when took off the cable because it was slightly melted or it was already broken. I can see it in the gpu port and it doesn't look like that it is in melted condition. Anyways to check it, i put the cable back in and the gpu is working fine since.

I checked by generating 5 AI images and ran 5 games at 4k so it is working on huge load as well. And main thing is my temp were never above 65c and since October it hasn't been above 60-61C on full load or the on the load i put it on, and on idle it remain under 30C like these days it remains in 27 to 28C and in summer it was in 31 to 32C. So i don't know how it melted, i think i tore it when i took off the cable from the GPU today.
I have a 16-pin extra cable with 2 x 8-pin connectors on the other end,

My question is how soon shoud I change it? My main issue is the torn cover in the gpu power slot, how do i take it out? We don't have that much of rtx4090 here and the repair men don't know how to fix these type of thing because most of the PC guys never got to work on the issue so i am on my own. I don't want to just plug the other cable in without take out the broken part from the power port. My 2nd question is, what if i switch the ends, like put the torn cover end in PSU and the other end in the gpu or do i have to change the cable no matter what?

But How do i take the broken piece out? Can i take it out with a needle?
