I just built a PC and I'm getting way lower FPS than benchmark videos on YouTube.
For example, in RDR2 at 1440p I'm getting between 50-70 FPS on Ultra, while all YouTubers are getting 110+ FPS running the same exact settings. Some games hit much higher (100+) FPS, but overall still less than expected in comparison to others with similar rigs.
I'm on a new fresh installation of Windows. All drivers and BIOS firmware are up to date, I also tried using DDU to uninstall and reinstall the Nvidia driver, and I tried rolling back to an older version. DHCP enabled in BIOS.
3DMark Basic gave me a 29464 score, with a CPU score of 14972 and a graphics score of 35535. It seems to match online scores. I'm not sure why my games are getting much lower FPS then.
During GPU-Z bus interface render test, it keeps going from PCIe x16 4.0 @ PCIe x16 4.0 to PCIe x16 4.0 @ PCIe x16 2.0. When inside RDR2, it's constantly PCIe x16 4.0 @ PCIe x16 4.0 and doesn't change. My total CPU utilization averages around 15% in RDR2, and 100% GPU usage. One thing I noticed is that GPU wattage barely reaches 390w at maximum load, even though I know this card easily runs around 450w. I don't have any BIOS or software modifications that would limit the GPU capabilities though.
