So, as some might know, I recently completed an HTPC build using this case...

As it was planned to only be a NAS / media / HTPC, I used a 3600X with an Asus Tuf GTX1650S-4-OC. My plan was originally to use my gaming rig only for gaming to minimize the chance of online attacks.

However, I've had a few second thoughts, as I'm not really a hardcore gamer, I just want optimum performance. I also would like to clear some space for recording equipment. My gaming rig has the Asus KO RTX 3060ti. At 275 mm, that specific card will not fit this case, but at 202-215 mm, and nearly identicaly specs, most other standard RTX3060ti cards should.

All the shorter 3060ti cards I've looked at appear to be 2.3 slot, same as the GTX1650S, so fitment would not be the issue with, say, an EVGA XC Gaming RTX3060ti. This GPU fits this case, while its specs appear identical to my Asus KO. I also have an ElGato 4K60Plus, the reason for needing to stay with a 2.3 slot.

Also, the cooler is an ID-Cooling IS-55, so with the 3600X / 1650S combo running about 40ish at idle, and 50s to high 60s (sometimes low-mid 70s) under gaming loads, can I expect reasonable thermals with a 5900X and EVGA XC Gaming RTX3060ti wit this cooler, in this case? Case has four 80mm intake fans, no exhaust fans at this time, but may be able to use slimline 80 / 92s for exhaust.

If not, any ideas on a fair price for the following, turnkey and optimized for performance and thermals?
I was thinking about $1000-$1500.

Fractal Pop XL Air case
Corsair RM850X
Asus Tuf B550-Plus
Patriot Viper Blackout 4 DDR4-3200 (PVB432G320C6K)
Ryzen R9 5900X
Scythe Mugen 5S Black Edition
Asus KO RTX-3060ti-8GB-OC
1TB WD Blue SN570 (x2)
Corsair Commander Core XT
Corsair LL120 (x6)

Unfortunately, there are no low-profile brackets for the ElGato 4K60-PLUS I have, and there's no room to vertical mount an LP card and horizontal mount the ElGato. Cable management is a nightmare in this case. I barely made what I have work with riser cables.

If someone wanted that exact system new, $1500 is about what it would cost to build. Depreciation and all that though. Given the way people think, something under $1000 might get more eyes on it.

Yeah, when my health issues forced me out of trucking, I tried building and flipping PCs about a year or so ago, so I'm well aware of the way people think.

Most don't know, and don't want to know, so they'd rather spend $600 at a big-box retail store for a system with minimal, if any optimization and haphazard compatibility. Just because it's new, thinking $400 for slightly older but proven hardware with full optimization is a rip-off, even though the $400 machine technically gives them more bang for the buck.

Example... I got 50 fps at 1600p from an i7-2600 on an Intel DH77EB board with 16GB DDR3-1333, an EVGA GTX1050 3GB and a Crucial MX500. Storage, PSU, case were brand-new, and I offered a 1 year warranty on it.

A second one with a 3600X / GTX1650 / 2x16 DDR4-3600 / 500GB M.2 / 4TB HDD, also with all new storage / PSU / case / GPU, I asked $1000-$1100. The few that showed interest tried to cut me down by saying it was $800 worth of parts, when I knew full well I'd spent close to $1000 building it, with little to no usage (it was a test bed for various components from my 5900X when it was having issues).

There are some bad builders out there, and it's ruined things for the rest of us, so I can't say I 100% blame them, but that sort of thinking keeps control and pricing solely in the hands of retailers. Which of course, means you often pay $600-$800 for something slapped together that's not running at its peak from bottlenecks.

Case in point, my first gaming rig was touted as a hot rod, turned out to have a 1700, stock-type Cooler Master, 8GB of DDR4-2133, GT1030, 2TB HDD, no SSD, and a 500W Channel Well PSU in a case that was more or less a furnace. As it was a family gift, I have no idea what was paid for it, but I'd be willing to bet, far too much.

Nice to know I'm in the ball park on a price though.
