Hello everyone!

I am desperately hoping that someone can help me to understand what is going on with my pc build right now. My troubles started about 2 weeks ago. One day I was playing a game, when my computer shut itself down randomly (not bsod, just complete power loss). When I tried to boot it back up, it would load to the point of the bios screen, and then power itself off again. I noticed that when this happened, the red LED lights (indicating an error), would light up on my motherboard(p8z77-pro). I changed out my psu for another, with no effect. So I then took all of my ram out, and tested it stick by stick. No luck there either. I even resat my cpu into its craddle, and applied new thermal paste. No change.

At this point I was pretty frustrated, so I just let it be for a couple of days. Then randomly last night, I decided to see if it would boot; and Viola! It booted up first try.

Since last night I have left it running, and it has yet to restart. I have even run benchmarks on my cpu and gpu, and my system did not fail during either. So great, my computer is fixed right? Wrong!

Ever since this has happened, whenever I now play games, I get this wierd stutter every 2-3 seconds. It only freezes up my game for about a half a second, and then will "warp" me forward.

You can view a youtube video of this "lag" here:

Also, here is my dxdiag info:

A few more things you can do. Resetting the BIOS if the CPU's...

Roger that Krishan, I will try this in the morning and let you know the results.

I tried playing the game without my gpu in, but was unable to load into it because it requires direct x 11. Is there any way around that?

I ran both benchmarks, 0 errors, 0 "damaged blocks"

Bro you have Intel HD Graphics 4000 which supports DirectX 11. You just need to install its drivers. Download them from Intel's website then try again.

Ok, so a little bit of mixed news today. I was able to fix the stuttering in my games (like shown in the youtube video), which turned out to be an issue with my modem.

But my computer started to turn itself off again today. Same symptoms: It will just completely shut off, and then try to reboot itself. It won't load past the bios screen before shutting off again. If I hit the master switch on the back of my psu, it will allow me too boot up again. But usually it will shut down within 5 minutes of logging into windows, sometimes doing it before I am even able to boot.

I have tried:

1) Removing my gpu and using the onboard vid card on my motherboard. Still shut down.
2) Looking for psu wires that were touching the sides of my case, causing a short. There were none.
3) Replaced the psu with a new corsair 750w, and it still shut down.
4)Remounted my cpu and applied new thermal paste, still shut down.
5)Checked all connections from psu to components, all seem good. Problem still persists
6)Removed all usb port devices and tried to boot, still shut down.

Tried Installing the OS again? Thats the best you can do for now. Or you should try replacing your Hard drive.
I think first you should install the OS again.
Be sure to do a clean install.

I have been putting off reinstalling windows OS, as it is a pain in the ass, but I think it's time to try.

***crosses fingers*****

So reinstalling windows had no effect, my computer turned off as soon as I loaded into windows with the fresh install.

Also, I replaced my hd with an ssd about 3 months ago, so I really doubt its that.

Seems like you have done all that you jad knowledge about... I suggest showing the system to someone who is in the field of. PC repairing.. You might get your system running again as soon as possible that way..

Yeah, I'm starting to think that might be my only option. I would hate to have to pay hundreds of dollars though for someone to trouble shoot this for me, only to find out that its a component that needs to be replaced.

Last time I had to bring my computer in for repairs, they charged me 125 for 2 hours of work, and that was after providing them with the parts myself. I can only imagine how much it will be for them to trouble shoot something like this...

A few more things you can do. Resetting the BIOS if the CPU's voltage is too low and causes the PC to shut off. You can just take out CMOS battery for 5 mins to easily do that. Or you can reset in BIOS. Or you can try updating BIOS to a newer one.
If nothing works then its probably a shorted Motherboard.
