I have a netgear WNA3100 USB wifi adapter and ac1750 router. I have been experiencing this rubber band lag lately when playing games online. I get plenty of frames (100+) and my ping is still low in the 30s but sometimes going up to the 80s.

Greatly appreciate any help,I have tried tons of solutions and nothing seems to work.
If this helps at all I also connected using my phone as a hotspot and had the same problem.

Solution
Gaming lag with rubberbanding is not uncommon with a wireless connection due to very brief latency spikes.

The best solution is either an Ethernet cable or a pair of AV1200 powerline adapters.

If you must stay wireless, your adapter is only N300 and is far inferior to what your router can do. You *might* get an improvement if you use a USB extension cable (up to 10 ft.) to move your adapter to a better location away from your computer.

So this would do the trick? How does it compare to Ethernet connection if Ethernet is not an option for me??

I was going to order the ac1200 usb wifi adapter and try that one instead, glad you told me soon enough to cancel order.
Thanks for the help.

Unless you are spending $1000+ You won't get one that is equal to Ethernet, and even then it won't be completelely equal

But this powerline adapter will definetly be more stable then the USB 1200 adapter?

Most likely, I don't do much in wireless devices outside of your pc

Also, that is not Megabytes, that is megabits.

8 megabits = 1 megabyte
So essentially you get 8Megabytes a second down and 3megabytes a second upload 😛

Definitely enough to make you not rubber band just because your internet speed though

Those would be my first choice, I've used dozens of them and every install got great results (averaging around 200Mbps and great latency compared to wireless). I have a couple of sets at my house and they both get 250Mbps+ and don't exhibit any lag on streaming or gaming.

Absolutely.

No doubt that a wired connection is the best, but powerline AV1200 is almost always better than wireless of any type for latency dependent applications when wired is not possible.
