IT's been a while...Chessbzse has released Chessbase 9, but Fritz 8 is
still the one that's currently being shipped as of now. I'm wondering
when we can expect a new version of Fritz...and more importantly...I'm
curious to hear what rumored new analysis features we can expect to
get in the next generation of the ChessEngine directory structure
built in?

My best wishes for a Fritz 9:

1 analysis board can be turned around when playing Black.
2.Main lines do NOT turn bold when you imput your variations to the
stem game.
3. A built in chess puzzle generator (this would be the best new
feature Chessbase cound put in the Fritz line...although I bet this
might be saved for a Chessbase 10 release.)
4.Ability to play Fischer Random chess...using Fischer random rules
5. Ability to play Swedish chess...otherwise known as one board
bughouse. Okay...maybe that's asking for a little too much...but I'd
love to see this in the line.

My personal bet without having any information or so: Fritz9 will focus on
features going into the direction of Bookup, Opening Trainer and Chess
Position Trainer. They made already the first step into this direction with
the last version and it's not magic to incorporate them especially if it is
your daily job. Actually I already wondered for a while why they didn't do
that in the past ten years yet.

Somehow, I'm reminded of Enzensberger...

Another needed feature is the for the Notation screen to recognize
transpositions and duplicate moves.
Also epd files should be allowed.
