I have a 2.0 USB Hub with External Power connected to the power outlet - because someone gave me an advice to connect an extra power to the USB Hub in order not to lose electricity as Webcams run at the same time.

I have 4 Webcams connected to that USB Hub - but when I try to run them all at the same time only 2 of them works - the other 2 is detected on my computer but won't run. I tested them one-by-one and they seem to work fine - but It cannot run all at the same time - only 2 of them works.

What seems to be the problem here? Is it on my USB Hub? - I have external power adapter though - even the adapter is not connected - still 2 of them only works. Help me! Thanks

Solution
Problem is bandwidth, when you connect a hub, all connections share same bandwidth. In actuality, you are using 4 cameras on only one USB port.

So should I buy another USB Hub and connect the two remaining Webcams? Or should I do something else instead?

It works!

Now - can I buy another USB Hub and plug those remaining two there? So that I could only consume 2 ports on my PC?

I have a similar problem but only with two webcams plugged in to one USB hub. If I plug one webcam in to the hub and the second in to the laptop's USB port it works fine. However, like Quest, I'd rather utilize a hub. Are there different hubs that work better? Should I look for a specific hub for such?

Thanks,
Steve K.

Please start a new thread for your particular situation.
Your issue is almost certainly trying to shove the video from both cams through a single USB port.
