Run BIG speakers from Laptop

Hi Folks,

I have a teenage daughter who wants to play music from her Laptop for a Garage Party. I have reasonable speakers but Am I right in thinking I need some form of amplifier? If so, do I need something special or would any old stero amplifier do?

A regular stereo amp will work.

Output from the PC, input to the Tape In or AUX. The stereo sees the PC audio as just another input.
You may need a 3.5" -> RCA cable if you don't have one.
