So, this will be a very dumb question, but I'm semi-new to the whole PC gaming thing. Would I benefit from turning off Vsync to get a higher framerate in GTA V? I see people on YouTube and such playing at framerates higher than 60, and I can't help but think that they must get a ton of visual tearing, their Vsync has to be off. Is there another way to cut down on the visual tearing that would result from turning it off? Specs are below:

-FX-6300 @ 3.5 GHz
-MSI R9 270X 2GB
-8GB RAM
-1080p 60hz LG TV

Solution
Disable V-Sync in the game, it's know to introduce lag and bring down frame rates.

To avoid as much tearing as possible, this program will help

It enables advanced frame rate control features for AMD users.
" Would I benefit from turning off Vsync to get a higher framerate in GTA V?" - VSync is only to maintain a constant framerate. Not to increase your framerate.

In fact you lower it to stay at a constant 60fps to match the refresh rate of your monitor to get a better picture. If you can't maintain more than 60fps without Vsync then Vsync won't work properly anyway.
