Hi, I have a problem where something is creating files in C:\Windows\temp in directories named like "tmp0003953\tmp00055d4a". They just keep being created, faster than I can delete them. I have tried to shut down everything I can but they still keep being created. I have run BitDefender Total Security scans and nothing found.

I'm running Windows 10 Professional with the latest major update applied.

Has anybody got any suggestions for how I can determine the source of these files, or somebody who has experienced this before.

Thank you

Ctrl-Alt-Delete get into Task Manager, click the Performance tab and then click "Open Resource Monitor" at the bottom. (Admin access required.) Go the the Disk tab. This should show you what PID has what open. Then you can use the PID in the Overview tab the track down the culprit. Know to that Windows uses little temp files all the time and lots of them. Unless they are eating up your disk this is normal.

Thanks for the advice.. I should have been able to figure it out! Using this, I determined that my system was emitting VSS files forever. Conflicts between two backup programs. I have uninstalled both and the problem ended. Thanks again for the help.
