Runaway Unit(s)

I am wondering if anyone else has experience this---

Occasionally, I will discover a unit (most usually a Warrior or a
Worker) way, way deep in foreign territory for no (seeming) reason.

Often, I may not notice this until I get a 'NastyGram" from someone
demanding I vacate or ELSE!

Could this be a bug or could I possibly be inadvertanly setting them
off?

Sometimes when a unit finds its way blocked, it will try an alternate route
which could be across foreign territory.

Perhaps you fortified one of your exploring warriors early in the game,
then forgot about him. Then when anther civ's boundaries expand, you get
the nastygram.

Some worker automation modes are liable to make them go wondering off.

Otherwise I don't know.

You could find workers wandering through enemy lands if you had been at war
and captured a city on the other side of the continent. That happens to me
alot when I automate my workers...

You may have accidentally hit the "E" key, which will send a unit off
