Hello!
Problem background
I have a setup with 2 DVI monitors and 1 HDMI TV that I'm looking to connect to my computer containing a P8-Z68-V PRO/GEN3 motherboard and a XFX Radeon HD 6870 graphics card. The motherboard has 1 DVI and 1 HDMI port, while the graphics card has 2 DVI , 1 HDMI, and 2 display ports. The monitors are pretty much identical BenQ DVI only (no HDMI) monitors.
What I'd like to achieve
I'd like to run the 2 BenQ DVI monitors in extended mode, while having the TV duplicate one of them. From what I could tell by googling, this can be accomplished either by purchasing an adapter for the display ports on my graphics card, or by using the onboard graphics on my motherboard. For economic reasons, I'd like to try the onboard-graphics solution first.
What I've tried
I've tried enabling iGPU in my bios, and connecting the HDMI TV to the onboard HDMI port while connecting the two monitors to my graphic card DVI ports - but the TV tells me there's no signal available. In Device Manager, my onboard graphics adapter show up as "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". I've tried installing new chipset drivers via Asus webpage, but that didn't solve my problem.
Any ideas on how I should proceed to solve my problem? Thankful for any help.
