I want to hook up a 144hz 1440p monitor to my PC, but my computer is standing in the basement and i want to put my monitor on my desk which is standing under the roof. I already have a cable trench that ends right at my desk. So, with all the cable management in the basement, the length of the DP cable would need to be ~15m. So is there a cable that does meet these requirements?
I've already taken a look at cables from a company called "Lindy", but those are only rated for 4K 30hz, so I don't think they will support 144hz at 1440p. They also produce DP extenders, but the only one that meets my requirements is kind of expensive and it would need to be in the middle of the 15m (so i would need two 7.5 meter cables). Also I don't think that I could hook the extender up to power in the cable trench or even get it in there properly.
So is there a 15m DP cable that can transmit 1440p at 144hz? And yes I know the official DP specification ends at 3m (I think).
Thanks in advance for all answers
Update: I did a little bit more research and the 15m Lindy cable/cables (although they don't seem to be active) have a 17.28 Gbit/s max. bandwidth (standard for DP 1.2), which is more than 1440p 144hz needs (12.7 Gbit/s), but 4K 60hz only needs 12 Gbit/s to work, so the cable should support 4K 60hz (Lindy says that it only supports 4k 30fps). So I'm still not sure if it will work. The source seems trustful enough.
