Running a FX-8350 at 4.2 gHz

Have an ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 mobo with FX-8350 cpu and was wondering if there is a way to make it run at the 4.2gHz level constantly.
Currently I have the BIOS set to the middle (normal) function [1 is quiet 2 is normal 3 is Turbo mode] in the BIOS settings and it runs at 4.0 consistently.
When I select Turbo mode the speeds start throttling all over the place and the computer acts erratically and booting back to BIOS it shows the gHz much higher than the 4.2 that I am shooting for. I've tried DCOP in the A1 tweaks in BIOS with all sorts of settings tried [like RAM settings etc] but am wondering if the 4.2 I'm looking for is something that the processor throttles to but does not remain at like it does for the generic 4.0 gHz.

Solution
It may not be exactly Throttling as MB has enough resources to run processor at 4.2GHz but there could be an awful lag while switching to turbo and back. You can safely turn turbo off in BIOS and set multiplier to 21 which will give you desired frequency without having to raise voltage.

I also had this tought, the main concern for me is that I couldn't get right temperatures reads with stress tests because they wasn't able to rise the clock to the maximum so 100%@3.6GHz didn't scratch the temperatures.

So what I did: First check your performance settings your windows, go for advanced settings and look for processor power management and make sure that minimum is not at 5% and is at 100%. Reboot. Step-By-Step

Sometimes only this would suffice but this turbo shits is a pain in the ass and will you have to tweak your BIOS settings (I don't advise but you could download AMD overdrive and try doing it by SO assisted software), you will want to disable a lot of functions that AMD defaults enable, C6, C10, Quiet'N'Cool, a lot of stuff that tweak your processor clock to accomplish something (temps, loudness, energy), then disable turbo boost and increase your multiplier, maybe your MB wouldn't get the voltages right and you will need to tweak your voltage, you will be overclocking your CPU to it's turbo speed.

As for PERFORMANCE I noticed that fixing the clock does shit in real loads.

thanks CountMike ... I set D.C.O.P. and the cpu multiplier to 21 [from 20] an that did the trick it now runs at the highest built-in speed [4.2 gHz] owe ya a beer.

thanks Gabriel & lifespill for your input too.
