running a separate user under a different user for the PC

So I have a question about how to run a different user account on my PC under my main user account. I work from home and have a dedicated user account that I log into for work. But it's separate from my main user account that I use for day-to-day activity. I want to be able to log into my main user account on my computer, and access, in a separate window, my work user account, mainly for when I'm checking emails and such and not actively logging in.. or to maintain communication with other people.. I constantly have log out/log in to each respective user profile in order to complete certain tasks.. I found virtual box which essentially provides that service, but I don't want to necessarily install a separate OS and run a virtual machine, I just want to access my work user profile while also logged into my main user profile and work from both. Is there a way to access/run my work profile in a separate window while logged into my main user profile? Please assist and thanks community!

Could you not just have 1 account that does everything or do you need both?

I do need both. My work uses a VMware client that creates it's wn user profile.
