This looks like an OpenGL problem... I encountered similar looking results with quake II in Vista. I had to hunt around and find a modified version to implement.

Also, no. I used VMWare to install the game on Windows XP (oldest OS disk I have). I then moved the game folder to the desktop of my win7 machine. I run it in Compatibility mode for 98, but I get the SS i showed.
