Hello, dear people! I've recently built my new pc and it's supposed to run AC Syndicate on medium-high. Here are the components:
CPU: Intel i5-4460 @ 3.2ghz
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 380 Gigabyte 2gb vram OC edition
RAM: 8gb
I'm running on Windows 10.
Now, i know that you need at least 3gb of vram in order to play the game on highest quality and resolution.I'm adjusting the in-game settings to match my 2gb vram limit, but the game looks so freaking ugly :'( If i want to play on highest res,i have to put the textures on low which is really painful for me to watch. So, i put them on medium, but i have to reduce my res significantly. My question is if there is any way around this, so i could put the settings on med-high and still run the game??? Because my video driver crashes (along with the game) with a message: "The video driver not responding.....has successfully recovered" every time i cross the limit of 2gb vram.I've tried the TdrDelay solution for this, worked for a couple of hours of playing, but it started crashing again, sometimes even with a BSOD.It doesn't crash if i don't go over 2gb. Is there a way for me to play this game on med-high, without buying a new GPU with more vram?

Thank you in advance!

Make sure you have the latest drivers installed. I have a GTX 670 also with 2gb and I played this game at high settings on 2560x1440 resolution avg frames 30-35. No driver crashes at all. It might be an issue with the driver. If it is up to date, try reinstalling it.

Thank you for you response. I am really sorry to reply a month late, and i am really sorry to resurrect an old thread. I've installed the latest drivers, and i've tried reinstalling them in safe mode, but nothing worked. I've tried the MSI Afterburner, since i've seen people recommend it , but still nothing. People told me its impossible to play it on high without at least 3gb of vram, but i refused to believe. I've played AC Unity on only 1gb on my old laptop, and nothing was crashing. I picked your answer as a solution because you proved it is possible to play it on high with 2gb, but i'm still having the issue. Any ideas?

My resolution is 1600x900, that's the max my monitor can provide. I am not sure for the beta drivers though.I used to game on Nvidia, but when i was building this pc, i chose amd. My PSU is Raidmax Thunder V2 735W. Now, after you mentioned that it could be a power problem, i've looked up ways to fix the ""The video driver not responding.....has successfully recovered" , but with keyword being "power". And most of the solutions recommended tweaking some power options in control panel, and turning off powercfg -h via command prompt. I have been playing Syndicate for 15-20 minutes without crashing after this, but it's too early to tell if it is solved. I'll put all on high and try to play for a couple of hours, and i'll come back with the news. Thank you so much for turning my attention to power, i completely forgot about it! You are a life saver!
