running hd 6770 only on pcie 2.0 slot?

so can I use this graphics card without damaging my motherboard as my smps doesn't have a 6pin connector....and the rest of my specs are:
G3240
4GB ram

Won't work. The PCIe slot can't supply that much power. It simply won't display anything.

Without the 6-pin connector the card will not function. If the PSU lacks the connector that's usually a good sign that you need a new PSU.

I highly recommended not using a fire hazard adapter in your system.

I agree. Using an adapter to force your PSU to power something it wasn't designed to power is just asking for trouble. My 450W PSU has two 6+2pin plugs on it. If your PSU honestly lacks any PCIe plugs it's time for an upgrade. Forcing it to power that card is not a good idea.
