Running into problems after upgrading graphics card

Hello,
I've recently upgraded my old GTX 550 to a GTX 1080 and I've come across some problems after installation. Upon booting my computer, I was greeted by a the black "no signal" screen. After trying to find a fix, I found that changing my bios to legacy actually made the GTX 1080 work as it should. Only a few moments into booting up, Windows 10 gives me an error , process1_initialization_failed , making it so I can't even sign in. Any Ideas on what I should do regarding this? Was it a good idea to change it to legacy mode?

It depends, on the box that comes with the card if you look it will state if the card is UEFI.
Set the bios to what ever mode the card says it runs with.

It might be a good idea to check what the power requirements in amps and wattage a 1080 card needs and check that the power supply you currently have in the system can deliver the power requirements.

The draw from a GTX 550 card will increase with a GTX 1080 card fitted to your system.
It can often be the reason as to why a system powers up but no video signal is produced from the video output ports of a newly fitted graphics card.

If you can List the brand of the power supply you have in your system, and the model number, plus the total wattage output of the PSU.

Sorry for the late reply. I couldn't find the card you were talking about, to see if the card was UEFI or not. As for the power supply that I am running, I currently have a Corsair CX750 with 750 watts.
