I would like to thank in advance for anyone who tries to help. anyway heres the situation..

I have an ASUS P5KPL-AM SE board was flashed for an update(BIOS from asus website) using the EZ Flash utility in the bios settings of the motherboard. During the flashing process it encountered an error and did not continue ending up that I have to reboot.

After the reboot, it automatically went to the ASUS Crashfree BIOS utility. I've done my research about this and how to use this utility. so here's what i've done so far.

(NOTE: i don't have a CD-ROM or a FLOPPY drive in this PC:)
(What I have: 8GB USB FAT 32)

1. placed the downloaded BIOS to USB (I'm aware that I have to rename the bios file exactly(P5KPLAMS.ROM) how the utility searches for it so I renamed it already)
2. plug the USB stick with the BIOS file in it
3. Fire up the PC
4. Enters Crashfree Utility

Boot Block Compatible ver .008
Bad bios Checksum
Starting Recovery
Checking for CD ROM..
CD Rom not Found
Checking for USB
USB found

5. Crashfree detects the USB with the file in it
6. Crashfree gets stuck at. > reading file "P5KPLAMS.ROM" _

don't know where to go from here. I even removed the CMOS battery and did the jumper thing to reset. Unplugged HDD and Nvidia Geforce GT 430 and placed one stick of RAM only to Slot B but still I get stuck at the reading file line.

I've also googled that some even get stuck at a reboot loop not even being able to see something in the screen. At least I'm not experiencing that and I'm able to enter the crashfree utility so I'm still kinda hoping that this MOBO can still be revived.

the main problem is I just get stuck at the reading file "P5KPLAMS.ROM" line
(oh and my mobos beeper seems to be busted so i cant here any beeps)

hope someone can help on reviving this PC thanks in advance! :)

i cannot get into the bios anymore since during boot-up it goes straight to the crashfree utility, its the first thing i see in my monitor. it can detect the usb, and it can detect the the correct bios file is in the usb and it says reading file it just seems to get stuck there and wont complete. are there any other option to flash the mobo if the first thing that pops up in the monitor is the crashfree utility?

yup the fix was for the CPU Q-Fan Control and i got that symptom that when i enter the bios and go to the power tab it freezes up. but before messing with the BIOS I experienced a lot of BSOD's at random times and did everything with changing PSU's / HDD's / RAM SWAPPING / Sometimes PC wont turn on sometimes will get into OS Windows 7 do a scan and all then random BSOD and got fed up with it and my last resort was Updating the BIOS might do a trick.

oh and i used another USB Stick 4GB and format it to FAT32 as well but still gets stuck at reading the BIOS file.

reading file "P5KPLAMS.ROM" _

where its supposed to say:

reading file "P5KPLAMS.ROM" _ Completed.
Start Erasing...
Start Programming...
Please reboot your computer yada yada..

The downloaded file is unzipped and placed in the root of the USB stick, theres nothing inside the 8GB FAT32 USB stick but only the "P5KPLAMS.ROM" file.

yeah, I've read also in other forums that the crashfree utility is a joke and doesnt work 95% of the time. At least I'm not having a blackscreen like others do so I'm kinda hoping. I don't know if the BIOS chip is soldered or not since I don't know what it looks like soldered or just attached. I'll still give this a try and look for answers. thanks!
