Hi All,

I just finished a new machine...I've noticed that I'm running at 42C(according to the BIOS) at just idle!!! which makes me a little nervous my specs are below...so my question is what should i check to make sure that i have all my ducks in a row. do i need to apply more thermal grease or take some off? i was pretty liberal when putting it on.

case: gigabyte aurora 570
mb: evga 680i lt
cpu: intell e6600
hsf: zalman 9700
thermal compound: zalman stg-1 (i think is the number, whatever came with the fan)
gpu: 8800gtx
ram: 2gb corsair

I would suggest taking the Zalman off and applying a thinner layer of TIM. Probably will drop you a few degrees. Other then that, your case airflow and room temperature are going to be the big factors.
