I think it was "custard" <custards1@hotmail.com> that wrote something

If you're only after the runes from the hellforge, I've been able to
get to the hell hellforge in about an hour and a half. Obviously you
need a pretty tough character to be able to rush a level 3 character
through hell difficulty in good time.
Some things to note.
In act 2, the character being rushed should talk to Drognan after
getting the viper amulet and before *any* character enters the Arcane
Sanctuary. If you don't do this, the guards won't move apart and let
you get to Jeryhn after talking to Tyreal so you can't then go talk to
Meshif and get on the boat to Act 3. If this does happen, sometimes
Jeryhn is close enough that you can talk to him over the guards heads,
otherwise you need to go back down either the palace or Arcane WP,
teleport back up to the first level and put a TP up for the rushee to
go through to be able to get to Jerhyn. Just talk to Drognan in a
timely manner, it's easier. : )
If the rushee dies for any reason, don't press Esc. Just make sure
you kill whoever needs killing at the time within a screen or so of
the corpse and you'll be fine. Mephisto doesn't count last I heard,
as the rushee only has to be on Durance 3, not close enough to Meph to
get any xp from his death. The council can be a bit tricky like this
as they tend to run around a bit and the dudes that run away when your
rusher show up, will run back in and kill the rushee while you're busy
with the council.
I always do the Normal Hellforge as well, as while the rune usually
isn't all that good, you can still get up to like an Amn, and the gems
are good for cubing up to perfects and rerolling small charms. I've
gotten some very nice charms from rerolling.
In the chaos sanctuary, don't worry about killing everything unless
your rusher can't handle the big mobs. Just hit all the seals and
kill the bosses that appear. Once all the seals have been hit and the
last of the 3 bosses goes down, everything else in the area dies and
diablo appears. I usually put the tp up right where he appears and
bring the rushee in right on top of him. As long as Diablo doesn't
use his fire nova and you're attacking him from the other side, the
rushee often survives. Does for me at least. And if it does die,
then at least it's close enough to still get the quest when you do
beat diablo.
Once Diablo's down and you get your rushee into Act 5, get the rushee
to create a new public game called "Baal for quest" or something
similar. Join with your rusher and go find the throne of destruction.
You'll get some people that will join just for baal minions, but your
rusher should be strong enough that the extra people don't really slow
things down too much. The idea here is to find someone to join the
party of your rusher and rushee that want's to beat Baal and move into
NM or Hell diff as the case may be. With your rushee in town and in
the same party as that person, when they beat baal (with your rushers
help) and move onto the next difficulty level, so will your rushee.
You rusher *CAN* get the last hit in on baal, indeed, your rusher can
do all the work. You just need someone that needs the quest in your
party and in the world stone chamber when Baal goes down. This way
you avoid all the trouble of the level requirements of the ancients,
and while there are similar ways to get past the ancients, my tests
seemed to show that they don't work if anyone that already has the
ancients quest helps. Seems easier to me to just do Baal.
Also, I don't tend to wait around if no one has shown up that wants
the quest and just kill baal then start a new game and try again.
There's only been 2 or 3 times that I've had to make more than 3 games
to get a rushee into the next difficulty level, and considering normal
baal is where I found my only Tal's ammy last ladder, just consider
them as mf runs also. I found my Arachnids Mesh from Hell Duriel
while doing a rush. I think it was doing a rush that I found perfect
chanceguards also. Picked up a Tiamats Rebuke doing a rush once also.
Rushes are actually not bad mf runs.
For a while when I'd first started doing the forge rushes I was
getting an ist just about every 2nd run, so no, the level of the
character getting the forge quest has nothing to do with what runes
drop.
And for the record, I use a fireball with Forb backup sorceress for
doing my rushes.
