So I’ve just downloaded rust .. the steam game..

I meet all the game requirements but when I run the game it lags bad and barely loads (sometimes just crashes).. it starts off using like 800mb memory but gradually goes up to 3gb and keeps increasing ? Why? What is going wrong?

Pc

CPU; i5 4690k, 3.5ghz
Mother board; Z97I GAMING AC
GPU; GTX 760 2gb
PSU; 550w
DDR3; 8gb
Ultra SSD 120gb / 1tb HDD

Current stats when running on lowest settings - CPU -20% , RAM-77%, disk-50% , GPU-3%

Thanks

64-bit titles will happily use as much RAM as Windows supports; there isn't a 2GB/4GB limit on RAM usage anymore. Frankly, 8GB isn't viable for gaming anymore; I've seen many recent titles that will use more then that.

By contrast, ARK and GTAV are 32-bit executables, and tap out at 4GB as they simply can't address more then that.

Does it impact gaming experience ?

Yes the RAM eventually gets to around 91% usage and i close the game.

I mean i play a lot of other games including ARK and GTA 5 which are bigger games etc..and they never use anywhere near as much mem.. Its just really strange..

Alot of people have suffered with the same issue but no-one had came up with an actual solution.

Than it must be due to particular game engine, can't see much you can do about it except to double your RAM.
