Rust overheats my PC

Hi, my name is Kaleb. I family-shared the game Rust with a friend of mine and recently began playing. Just this week I decided to upgrade my processor and power supply. Before the upgrade, I could run Rust with little to no graphic lag and smooth response. After adding in the new parts (CPU and PSU) I can start up Rust and join a game, but once in game I have only long enough to view my main inventory and have some nearby nature and buildings to load in before the screen goes blank (or on one occasion, becomes a dark brown color with black lines) and my system resets itself. Once the monitor just shut off but the computer was still on, with the GPU fan running rampart. I quickly powered down the computer by holding the power button. I have no clue what the issue is. Please help TH.

Specs:
Processor - AMD A1-5800K APU w/ Radoen HD Graphics
GPU - Radeon 7700 HD
Sys Type - 64-bit
RAM - 4GB

You said you upgraded your CPU...

Did you clean the old thermal paste off and apply new, high quality thermal paste?

A poorly mounted CPU with bad paste will heat throttle fairly quickly under load. CPU will have loud fan noise and slow performance when this happens. Motherboard temperature monitoring may also force a reboot to cool PC down.

I did clean it and reapply, with the help of a friend. I thoguht the problem was fixed, but the same thing happened tonight when playing Battlefield 3.

Download Coretemp and HWmonitor. These will give you CPU and GPU temps. Tell us what your idle temps are and what they are when you start launching a game/under load. Since you replaced the CPU, its likely the CPU that is overheating.

Also, what was your old PSU and what is your new one?

I don't remember my old PSU, but it was 480w.
My CPU idle is 6-7 Celsius.
GPU is 34-35 Celsius.
While running Skyrim on Medium settings:
GPU: 40.C
CPU: 10.C
