Rust is a hard game to run.... But 8gb is enough
In the game it says its only running 4586 mb but in task manager its running around 90 %
Is there a possible memory leak? And how to fix it?

Specs:
CPU: Intel i5 7300-HQ
GPU: Gtx 1050 4gb
Ram: 8gb 1 stick ddr4 around3200mhz?
Running on a HHD 1TB drive

Games won't necessarily use the recommendations -- that's at a system level, and incorporated the overhead from a typical OS too.

If Rust is using 4.5GB, your OS (and other running applications) is using roughly 2.7GB total.

Makes total sense to me?

But im getting alot of laggspikes and i think it has to do with my ram.. Other specs are perfectly fine to run rust... How to fix the laggspikes

You could see performance issues if your total system memory usage hits/exceeds 8GB, as you're then utilizing the SSD or HDD, which are both substantially slower than system memory.

Are you monitoring your CPU/GPU resources too? How are they looking?

Close unnecessary programs, don't attempt to multi-task etc.

My CPU is running at 90 %
My GPU is running at 50 %
And my ram is running at 90% (thats around 7gb and 4gb in game)
