So ive been looking to getting back into pc gaming and after searching through a few parts ive come up with a list. I might overclock in the future so im not sure of the power supply. im sticking to the £600-£700 bracket, ive got a mouse, monitor keyboard etc so thatll be spent on parts. The list goes like this

Asus Z97-A

Intel i5 4690k

Crucial ballistix sport 8gb ddr3 1600mhz

Evga geforce 960

Wd blue 1tb

Coolermaster haf 912 plus

Xfx atx 550watt

I can steal the dvd writer from my old pc. I will be using it for gaming hopefully on high setting with 60 frames+

Alrighty then, well it's good that you want to get back into pc gaming. A gtx 960 is not a fantastic card, but it is decent. The above link is a suggested build. You should upgrade the graphics card and the psu to an r9 290 and a 650 watt psu. As far as graphics card, the hierarchy from worst to best starting at the the r9 280 is r9 280<gtx 960<r9 280x< r9 290<r9 290x<gtx 970<gtx 980<Titan X=r9 295x2. So an r9 290 is within your price range and far superior to the 960 because it has 4gb vram rather than 2gb vram, and it has a much higher clock speed, however the upgraded psu is necessary to run an r9 290 safely with some headroom.
