I havent bought any parts yet, but my plan so far is an Intel g3258 (I know dual core is bad, but I plan on upgrading to an i3/i5/) MSI h81m-p33, 8gb ddr3 ram, a 430w PSU, and a to be determined case. My question is, is the RX 460 worth the wait, or should I just get a 750 ti? And I need a way to get whichever card I get to work with a VGA monitor. I'm mostly going to be gaming at 720p. I'm not much of an esports gamer, I play games along the lines of Watch Dogs and GTA

You can get adapters to hook whichever card you get to your vga monitor pretty cheap. I use an ada[ter to run my old monitor that I use as a second monitor, no sense throwing it away or have it gather dust.
RX 460 would be worth it for the DX 12 support etc. A 750Ti would not support latest gen shaders etc.
Give the market a little bit, see what card prices do. Availability is always limited at card launch.

If you're REALLY going to stay with 720p, the 750ti would be great. The GTX950 would be amazing.

There is no reason not to get the newer Skylake though at this point. The G4400 + H110 motherboard + DDR4 RAM would be about the same price.
