Rx 470 4gb or RX 480 4gb $30 Difference

Solution

I will always recommend that you set a hard budget for yourself and then get the best that you can afford. It is true that 1060/480 - 1070 are in the ideal perf/$ range right now, but there is always something slightly better for slightly more and thinking in that fashion is a slippery slope.

If you can afford the 480, go with the 480, you'll be happier in the long run. If you'd rather spend your money elsewhere, go with the 470, it's a pretty good deal.

With rebates you're getting a good deal on the RX 470 for 149,99 dollars too. Up to you if you want to pay more for the little bit of extra horse power.

is it really noticable? i dont really mind playing in high instead of ultra and i usually use 1080p never 1440

i actually need a new psu so i would rather spend the $30 for a new psu do you think that its a huge difference? and is there a difference between the msi gaming 470 and the msi armored 470? they have a $20 difference

Your PSU is a component that will long outlast your GPU, if you get a good one, so I would definitely recommend getting a good PSU. Now, $30 won't get you a good PSU, but $30 could make the difference between a good PSU and a great PSU.

If you're fine gaming at 1080p at medium-high to high settings, the RX470 fits your needs and I'd spend that money on getting a solid PSU.

ok thx a lot im going to get the 470 and a seasonic s12ii 520 W psu do you think i should get the 520 one or the 620 one? or are there other psus you reccomend?

S12II is a pretty good PSU, and will serve you well enough. 500W should be more than enough for your build. You should try for something semi or fully modular, it helps with cable management. You should check out the EVGA 550 g2 or Corsair RMx series, they usually come on sale this time of year to be in the $60ish range. The PSU Tier List here on Tom's is pretty good reference material when comparing deals.

ill probably just get the 520W m12ii then, because here in Indonesia those psu's are really expensive haha only the m12ii is around $65 the corsair and evga are way above 100 haha thx anyways
