I recently bought an RX 470 and seeing the temps they look kinda high compared to my old gpu XFX Radeon 7850 that would usually have mid to high 60 degrees celsius during gaming. I was just wondering if reaching these temperatures with the RX 470 is normal. Ive reached a peak of 91 degrees celsius before and I was really concerned so any input would be great.

They are acceptable temps. My gaming temps are 60 - 70. To avoid hitting 91, use Wattman and set the max temp to something you are comfortable with. 80 would be fine with a target temp of 72ish. That way your card will throttle to avoid dangerous temps.

Also adjust the target fan speed to what you find tolerable for noise.

there is a really good YouTube video published by Adored.TV on how to use Wattman if you need a guide.

is your RX 470 a base model? If not who is your model manufactured by? It could be a driver update. I've seen people getting high temps until they reverted to a previous driver and then got better temps. Maybe try that?

It was manufactured by sapphire and it also says its overclocked on the box

Hmm.... I have a sapphire card and have never had that problem. I guess try reverting to previous drivers though I doubt there are many it being a new release...
