I have done a lot of research about these 2 amazing performing cards. But when I saw the benchmarks the difference was only 1 to 2 frames per second. But also a huge factor bothering me between their differences was the vram. What does the extra 4gb on the 8gb model of the rx 480 offer, i mean listen, the only difference in gaming performance was only 1 to 2 frames per second. So what does the extra 4gb offer?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

It would provide a bigger difference if a game needed more than 4GB. 4GB is enough for most games right now so you aren't seeing much difference in benchmarks. It's hard to say whether that will still be true in a couple years. I wouldn't buy a card with less than 4GB like the 3GB 1060 right now but I don't have the same trouble recommending a 4GB 480.

Is the price difference significant between the two? Even in Australia the difference between the two variants is usually between $30-40. I would personally go for the 8gb given the choice. Although most games stay under the 4gb mark I have seen quite a few go way past it i.e. rise of the tomb raider dx12 hits 7.6gb in my 390, modded skyrim 5gb or so, shadow of mordor the same, gta v with texture mods 4.5-5gb easily. Not sure if a 4gb card would face any issues with these examples but I'd rather have the cushion available

The difference in pricing is 20$, so should I go with the 8gb model just to be sure of having a safe "space or room" for programs nad games using large amount of vram or just stay with the 4gb model?

I'm sorry the difference in pricing is 27$. So are you saying I should go for the 8gb model? I mean I incorrectly said tje difference in pricing. So is 27$ still negligible?
