Hey im making my first pc which is less than 1k. Is the Radeon RX 480 future proof. I know its not the best gpu on the market right now but I needed a budget fitting gpu. I saw some data and it showed that it can run most games at 1440p at an average of 50+ fps which is already great! Im not really interested in 4k but will the Rx 480 still be able to support future games at 1440p if not 1080p?

The rx 480 with 8gb will be ok for about 1-2 years depending the resolution-settings.Remember gpu tech changes rapidly every gen.But history proves that amd gpu's tend to have more support over the time than nvidia as they got old.

I would recommend the RX 480 out of all cards on the market right now. It is the best card for DX12 at the moment, and will perform better than any of Nvidia's cards. Nvidia tends to favor DX11, and AMD supports Asynchronous Compute, which makes it better in DX12 games. I would also recommend the 8GB model so it will last longer, and it will perform better in memory intensive games.
