So i just bought a new pc, 2 days ago and right after i finished building it i thought i'd run unigine heaven to check out the card. But somewhere near the end i got a crash, a black screen that turned into a red screen and terrible noise as well . I could only restart using the button cause it was totally unresponsive. Afterwards i tried unigine again and i could maybe do 1 run without it crashing but the next run will be a black screen again at some point. This also happens during gaming as well, so far it has crashed twice in DOTA 2 and once in overwatch but i havent been playing that much. This time around its a black or gray screen though. I've tried reinstalling windows, using different drivers , right now im using 16.12.2 , but i've also tried 17.2.1 and another one(cant remember which but it was recent) and the issue persists(i did use DDU to uninstall previous drivers). I've tried underclocking and undervolting in wattman but that didnt help either. I've also noticed, since i got one monitor running off the integrated graphics that that one doesnt turn black or gray or whatever, it just freezes.
I've also tried monitoring temps a bit but they seemed normal to me, never went above 79 degrees even during benchmarks.
What do i do? 🙁

Here are my specs:
6700
h110m-k
16gb corsair vengeance 2400mhz
sapphire rx 480 nitro+ 8gb
seasonic s12 II 520w

Im starting to think I should've went with my first thought and bought that gtx 1060 🙁

Solution
Could be this particular line of cards. Quality checks? I'm not sure. I stick with Nvidia. I've always disliked Radeon/ATI/amd. I have a preference for Nvidia and Intel.
If you've done DDU to reinstall drivers, reseated the card, and windows runs fine otherwise, I'd say RMA the card. Probably bad. Unless someone else knows something else about your particular model and other parts, I'd say that's it.

I havent tried reseating it yet... Think that might be the problem?

Try anything you can think of. If you just got the card though it could likely be a bad egg. Call their support to see if theres something they know that you didn't do yet before you RMA. Never hurts to ask around like you're doing but also call them.

But I've seen so many posts of people having the exact same issue, how could this be? What is amd doing over there?

Hi, did you solve it? I'm in the same situation.

RMA'd the card. Got an asus rx 480 strix oc since they didnt have this one on hand and it works great so i guess the other card was faulty.
