I have been trying to run an RX 480 in my rig but can't get it to work which I think is due to my mobo (Foxconn H67MS V2.0) running only legacy BIOS. With the RX 480 installed, I can't even get it to the boot stage, there is also no video signal outputted. Here is my troubleshooting post for more info on the boot issues - https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/5d9l3k/installed_an_rx_480_and_the_pc_no_longer_boots_up/
The BIOS software on my mobo is out of date. The software is from 2011 and there was an update in 2013. However, I am hesitant to update it just yet because;
1. Updating BIOS is something I have never done and is risky when being done by someone with no experience. I can't risk bricking my PC due to exams coming up very soon.
2. I don't even know if updating my BIOS is going to fix the problem.
3. The instructions on how to update BIOS from Foxconn are pretty dire, not incredibly straightforward for someone of my experience which makes things harder.
Set up
- Window 10 64 bit
- HP 1907 monitor
- Intel i5 2400 3.1Ghz
- 4GB RAM
- Novatech 750W ATX Power Supply
- Foxconn H67M-S V2.0 Motherboard
Thanks for any help.
