i cant decide which to get ive looked all over the internet and some are saying get the rx 480 some are saying get the gtx 1060 this is so frustrating.i want to play old and current games at max settings 1080p
I went with a ASUS Dual 1060 6gb due to lower power usage, lower temps, and i was already familiar with Nvidias software. The major advantages of an RX480 is the ability to crossfire in the future (equall to almost a GTX1080 kinda), and AMD cards tend to be better supported as they age.
Buying AMD is better for the whole computer community because Intel really needs some competition...
There really is no correct answer. It really does come down to personal opinion. I myself like the RX 480 for the extra VRAM, but both GPUs have their pros and cons. Shop around and see what kinds of deals you can find on different video cards. YouTube comparison videos also can be quite helpful in making a decision like this.
You got a 480, you got a 1060, uh struggle city. I would go with a 480 because crossfire is supported for those cards, but the GTX 1060 has no SLI. So if you ever want to dual GPU's I'd prefer the 480, just because a 1060 is not SLI supported
