Question rx 480 ryzen 5 2600

i have an rx 480 and ryzen 5 2600. i built the pc a while ago but recently i noticed the decrease in performance when playing fortnite.. i have it set at 120 fps. but for some reason i get a lot of fps drops.. any help is appreciated. the cpu and gpu are both stock and id like them to stay that way. what optimisations can i make to sort the issue

check cpu/gpu temp and usage during the game?

Ryzen 5 2600
8gb DDR4 2133mhz
b450 ds3h motherboard gigabyte
corsar vs Series vs550 550w 80+ Psu
everything is stock. no overclock..

not about stock or overclock, it about what temp is during the game
and vs series is not that good

In game my gpu temp is between 55 to 60 degress and cpu always around 60ish

Besides the PSU the memory is problematic. Slow memory speeds not only can affect FPS but dips as well. While I don't know the impact of 2133 to 3200 on Fortnite I did some testing and the difference in Destiny 2 was nearly 20 FPS. On the Division 2 the FPS stayed the same however 2133 resulted in much more FPS dips. Memory issue could be increased further if your using s single stick and not a 2x4gb kit.

Still, 2133 is too slow for AMD Ryzen.

I would upgrade to a 2x8gb @3200 kit then upgrade the PSU next.

In the meantime just lower the settings to minimize the dips.

i play fortnite on the lowest settings.. but the stuttering is stilll there.. im new to gaming so not sure thats the correct term... but its as though theres lagging while playing but the fps is still the same
