My question is short and easy: as the rx 480 and 580 have the exact same architechture, would a rx480 overclocked to 1340 mhz (rx 580's boost clock) have the same performance of a reference rx 580? Because i have the sapphire nitro+ rx 480 8gb which is clocked at 1342 mhz and i was wondering if it actually performs as a 580. Thanks!

newer usually better (although not always). You already have 480, just be happy with it. Overclock it as much as it can hold. My 480 4Gb was failed to flashed into 8Gb, but I am happy with it as it run almost the same as my 1060 6Gb which I bought US$100 more expensive 4 months earlier.

the fact is that it has the same ROPs amount, same number of TMUs, same vram clock speed, same memory bus, same memory buffer, same memory bandwidth and they're both POLARIS cards. for this reason i thought that also same clock speeds would lead to same performance but i couldn't find any video/thread in any website to confirm my theories...
