I have an issue with my RX 5600 XT. After booting the pc and turning on a game (Rocket League, only game i have on my pc ATM) it works for a variable amount of time (from 5 minutes to 3 hours) after which the gpu drivers "stop responding", which results in either the game crashing without an error message, a game crash with AMD Software error message about sending a report or screen going black and fans going full speed. This issue, however, seems to be fixed by rebooting the PC. I tried formatting Windows and installing three different driver version (20.11.2, 20.9.2, 20.7.1) but that didnt fix anything. PC doesnt crash under light loads like watching YouTube, Meet calls etc. I feel like that started happening after a Windows update around mid December, but im not entirely sure.

full system spec? include make and model of the psu
check the gpu temp?
Cpu: Ryzen 5 2600
Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB 3000MHz
Mobo: Gigabyte b450m ds3h
Gpu: MSI Radeon RX 5600 XT GAMING X
Ssd: PNY 1TB NVMe
Psu : SilentiumPC Vero 650W 80+ Bronze
I don't think it's a temperature issue because it gets fixed by rebooting, but i'll try to check temperatures.

Also, in Event Viewer there's a "Display" error with a 4101 error code and a message about "amdkmdap" driver that stopped responding and successfully recovered.

I have the exact same issue with my RX 5600 XT, first time I power the PC and open a game it crashes, but after rebooting it generally never crashes.
I have checked temperatures and they always maintain in the expected values.

My Specs:
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500X 6-Core Processor, 3.6 Ghz
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
  • RAM: 2x8Gb DDR4 2400MHz Kingston
  • Motherboard: TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS (WI-FI)
  • PSU: Thermaltake Smart SPD-0600P – 600W 80 PLUS
