Currently, I am using a Ryzen 3 2200G with a RX 580. This upcoming month I plan to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 3600. As for my GPU I was looking at the new 5600xt (OC) and the price cut from nvidia I figured to go with these cards. Which one should I opt for? (I Use my PC for AutoCAD work and Gaming)

I Realize that the 5600xt is new and everything is based on benchmarks but would like to see what others think

Hi @Razor-

The 2060's price took a nice cut down to $299. That's a nice price for an entry level card with Ray Tracing. The 2060's performance seems to be hit & miss though. Some people get great cards with solid performance while others are joining the growing line of issues reported with this card. Personally, I'd buy a 1660Ti over a 2060 even if it's inferior or save up for a better card. (Google 2060 performance problems)

The 5600XT is expected to be around $280 though final MSRP won't be fully known until it's actually on the shelves. The generic benchmarks seem to favor the AMD card over nVidia's offering overall as well. Again, these are non-user benchmarks, so take what they say with a heavy dose of salt. We won't know...
The new AMD cards are great but AMD drivers are still pretty bad and AMD seems slow to update and fix issues.

The 2060 Super and 5700XT are fairly close in theoretical performance but considering how many games have the Nvidia bias in terms of performance the 2060 Super will probably be the better choice if your budget allows.

From the admittedly little that I have read, nVidia seems to be better when rendering so you may want to strongly consider the 2060 for that reason alone if you plan to use CAD. However, I will defer to another member on that that has a 2060 and so can better answer that part of your question.

As I primarily use my system for gaming, I would chose the 5600XT over the 2060. But that's just my uneducated opinion. If you wait until the 5600XT is released and decide on the 2060, do your research as all 2060's are not created equal.
